Power consumption DC 4.8 ~ 6V, 0.06A at Max load
Power requirement 4 AA batteries, or External DC 9 ~12V, 500mA
Duration of operation 24 hours at 20ºC

So, it works with 4 Rechargable NiMH batteries (4.8V) or 4 alkaline batteries (6V).

The problem of Vixen is the polar scope is at extra cost and the polar scope needed to be remove after alignment. Thus, create a risk of mis-alignment again. Correct me if I am wrong!

I think you can buy an adaptor ($80) and a plate ($350) from LT and use your SXD polarscope with Polarie:

With polarie, you need a pan-and-tilt micro-adjuster to polar align. With skytracker, only a panning adjuster is needed.

There are many star trackers to choose from and all of them have some shortcomings.
I only said the Vixen Polarie is also a good choice and I have made the choice and bought a Vixen Polarie as I consider Vixen product to be more reliable in the long run.
I have many other star trackers and time will tell which one is the best overall.
