Another observatory class photo!

The SN2011dn is showing orange, which I had it taken a week ago having colour towards the red end of the spectrum. This confirms the SN is not white but with colour.

Just tried to remove some of the noise and enhance the dark lanes and small features using the LRGB version. Personal taste only.

With some second thoughts, I have adjusted my original post by removing some red cast and lowering the brightness and contrast. It helps to hide some noise around the fainter regions.

I have already used a very heavy dose of sharpening trying to bring out the last bit of info from the image. You are even more aggressive than me! Heavy processing an image and showing it in 100% magnification is indeed a very tough game.

It seems to be slightly towards the red/yellow spectrum in my image. But my color data is very noisy to be reliable for the small star.

I borrowed the picture as an introduction slide in my talk (with image credit of coz'). I have to say the people (astronomers) are truly amazing by this image taken with such a small telescope.
