RW Aur more intense monitoring needed now

Further to AAVSO Alert Notice 514 (www.aavso.org/aavso-alert-notice-514),
the Chandra observations of the classical T Tauri star RW Aur (component A) have been scheduled and will take place

2015 April 16 6:30 - 17:37 UT

Your observations are extremely important to Dr. Hans Moritz Guenther's study of the mass pulled by RW Aur B from the disk that may be surrounding RW Aur A, the currently-believed cause of the dimming of the system by about 3 magnitudes. Because of the very long orbit of the binary, this event is likely a once-in-a-lifetime observational opportunity.

Multicolor nightly observations have been requested; more frequent observations during the satellite observations would be valuable.
Please observe RW Aur in as many bands as possible. Once the satellite observations are completed, please continue observing nightly through the end of the current observing season. Visual observations are welcome.

RW Aur is currently visual magnitude 12.2 as of 2015 April 13 (BRJ, J. Bortle, Stormville, NY).

Charts for RW Aur may be plotted using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP, http://www.aavso.org/vsp).
