Whale FM and Voorwerpje News from Galaxy Zoo

It's that time of the year again: the doors of the 2011 Zooniverse advent calendar are now opening up at http://zooniverse.org/advent - festive fun every day from across the Zooniverse. In fact day 2 of the calendar links to a curious online game featuring everyone's favourite Voorwerp!

In more serious Galaxy Zoo news, we've the Hubble Space Telescope time we were granted to observe the Voorwerpjes - unusual galaxies identified by the denizens of the Galaxy Zoo forum - has already resulted in the first data being returned. and we expect more to come in 2012. We'll be blogging them as they arrive.

Galaxy Zoo's parent, the Zooniverse, also launched a new project this
week: Whale FM, where we're asking everyone to help decode what whales are saying to each other. Tune in and check it out at http://whale.fm.
