Making Baader filter for C8

I am about to make a Baader filter for C8. However, which of the following is better?

1. To make a full 8 inch aperture filter
2. To make an off-axis filter with a clear aperture of diameter of about 60mm (This is the largest I can make due to the central obstruction.).

The second option seems to be better since the effect of poor seeing is less. However, I am worried that a 60mm aperture is too small, especially when high magnification visual use (for observing sunspots) is intended.
