22-7-2009 Partial Eclipse in HK
Dear all,
I am not able to go to China and observe the total eclipse in 22-7-2009. But I will do the Partial Eclipse observation in HK. Anyone can suggest me some observing spots and reminders? Many thanks!

As the eclipse starts in the morning, find a place where the eastern sky is open, such as Shek O, Plover Cove main dam, or simply Star Avenue!
If you like to "gain" a few more seconds of eclipse, go as north as possible, haha, just to be closer to the totality path.

That's A LOT OF equipment for shooting partial eclipse! You are preparing for your next total eclipsewillis 寫:Thanks all!
If the weather is good, I will setup several equipments. It would be nice if I can park my car & setup righ the way. My tentative equipments are three scopes, 1 DSLR, 1 DC, 1 Webcam, 1 DV etc.

No problem. You have plenty of time for the partial eclipse...
For us the totality chasers, we simply cannot afford to operate so many equipment during the few LONG minutes of totality.
Even for my "ambitious" project for 2 experiments (objective grating spectrum of the corona and polarization imaging), I have to carefully schedule all my exposures and operation procedures.
