Hi MANDII, I missed this topic before, I am sure that your project is a great temptation for every stargazer. After reading through your descriptions and also your drawings, please don't mind, I can judge however that your dome could not provide sufficient spaces for your normal operation of a usual telescope, those scopes, I mean just range about 4" to 8", refractors or newtonians. Only 4" to 6" SCTs could be fitted better into the dome.........even with a very small scope inside the dome, you would mostly feel confounded on operating your scope when you also get yourself inside the dome.

8" = 20cm ?? the telescope cannot be longer than 20cm ??
I think that is impossible .
a) A 1M diameter circle can horizontally rotate an around 80cm long scope ( still have 20cm space for auxillaries).
b) Normally ,20 degree elevation is the starting point of view , upto 80 degree is enough . Thus , if the scope is set in middle , and consider the length of the scope is 40cm( halfly) , there is around 10cm the eyepiece below the horizontal level , which is enough for my eye( sitting height) to look at it without problem .
c) when the scope is 80 degree elevation , the eyepiece height get lower , but the height is still have 20cm over the ground . And there is L-shape eyepiece for you to look more easily .
Thus , a maximun about 40cm*2 = 80cm long scope( not include auxilaries) can be rotated freely in sphere direction from 20 degree upto 80 degree elevation angle . with the eyepiece can be seen by persons comfortably .
Anyway , My hair is already get wet , I have no choice and just can only go ahead now ( because the dome is made ). It can be too late or too early to make the judgement .
Since I had considered the size matter at the very beginning rationally and not by feeling and in serious , thus even at last it's totally wrong ,I will not be regreted and there should have some way to deal with this problem at that time . You know everything should have different extent and levels .
And so far , in my current limited situation, I still cannot obtain any strong mathematical reason to say that the space is not enough . Actaully at the beginning , my target is set to put the meade LXD75 Sn8 or similar scope into the dome . Such kind of telescope should be enough for me to use within several years in future and within my budget estimation . At this moment I still think not big problem for me .
Under my circumstance that I did not have any experience in using telescope before ( just read some astronomy books , see some picture on the net and their specification of the size ) , and my buget is limited as well , there can be no choice but the only personal judgement to go with .

Wah!! 寫:The dome itself is already done, but you can still make a larger room under the dome.
What you have to do is just buy more bricks
2M big and 1.13M height is enough ?
My sitting height is around 95cm on a small little chair .
The diameter cannot be changed because it's the biggest . Too big will affact the overall usage and view of the house platform and view of the observatory itself as well . So we may only can change the height . But if the height is too much higger than the platform bench , it will be not so safety .. .and also easily discovered by other passengers .. .
So what height do you think is enough ?
I think it would be very interesting to use red and other color EL light strings for lighting~
