Construction of Robotic Observatory - 9, Dome Wiring

Dear ATMers,

The wiring of the dome had been finished. There were lots of wire connections to be made and with the help of a competent electrician the task was done within just one day. All the wires were neatly laid and were easy to follow.

Upon finishing of the wiring a laptop PC was connected to the DDW ( the name of the controller of the dome ) at once to test run everything. The dome was trained by the DDWCP ( the application software of the dome ). That is, the PC gave a command to the DDW to move the dome to a specific azimuth angle. After receiving the command from the PC the dome should follow the order and GOTO that position, stop and the target should be right at the middle of the shutter opening.

The position of the dome shutter opening was checked by a 8 inch LX200. If the dome was accurate the target should every time stay at the middle of the open and the LX200 should see the target all right . It actually did.

Of course the 8 inch LX200 was not supposed to be used inside the dome and the final test should be done by the real RCOS16 + Paramount. However without proper flooring and electrical mains to the dome it is not possible to move in the equipment to this new home.

We have done all we need to do. We are now waiting the government sending people to finish the cabling and flooring of the dome. Only then could we carry out our next step.
