The making of 26 inch Cassegrain - 17, Main Spider Finished.

Dear ATMers,

The secondary of our 26 incher has a diameter approaching 10 inches. The secondary is heavy and thus the spider holding it must be strong enough.

Thus the spider is constructed by solid thick aluminium stripe inside of thin bronze rods. The secondary will sit on the 10 inch wooden base atop the 30 inches diameter secondary ring, also make by same 3/4” plywood.

The secondary mirror will be mounted onto this spider very soon to put the whole spider into test.
