Dear ATMers,

The telescope was completed. Under very limited budget and tight schedule the telescope was still finished well before expected.

The whole telescope was made by wood – the “All Wood Telescope “. As I have mentioned earlier – wood is cheap and friendly to work with and this showed a real proof of my saying – the OTA was finished just in two days, with only a handful of primitive equipment – a jig saw and a router. No milling machine, no lathe and no specialized machines required.

After two nights of trial and testing the whole telescope showed a stable structure and smooth turning. One word – it is a pleasure to use this scope, despite of its ugly outlook.

There is only one thing left to be done – coating of the primary mirror.

I am sorry. Just asked WongSir - on 19 July Astrofarm is not available. I think the first light must be arranged in some other days or some other place.

You are absolutely correct !

I am afraid that the mirror will return not until 18th. The plane on 20th is a morning plane and thus the only available first light will be on 19th.

How about 19th first half on PTC then ? Will not stay overnight since we have a plane to catch next morning.
