16 inch telescope will proceed PTC tonite (13 May 2013)

Just return from PTC. The sky was full of clouds.

All I got was a big piece of white fruit.

Why not check Sai Kung sky camera before embarking ?

Very often I would check the Cloud Sensor readings at Sai Kung.

If the sky temperature is lower than -5C, the sky would be clear without clouds. Even if there are clouds, the clouds would be quite thin.

For good chance of starry night sky, the sky temperature should be at least 0C or lower and the temperature should be cooling down, while the Clould Graph should show a right hand side
rising curve.

If the sky temperature is higher than 10C, there is no hope of any clear sky during that moment in time.

My observatory is just 5 km NNW of Pak Tam Chung and thus the cloud coverage is roughly the same.
I do not mind sharing the weather info but I have no knowledge of web server broadcast.
Perhaps some web experts may volunteer to set this up.

The all sky camera with sense up feature is being fine tuned to enable remote dew heater and remote focusing. When this project is completed then B/W sky image of night sky can also be viewed.
