I am doing the same thing in tin shui waiMANDII 寫:No , walking 15 min to the main town .
Near a hill ,but the sky is still ok . Extreme mag. around 4.0
The milky way cannot be seen .
I think using equipment around 20000 HKD ( incode the CCD ) can be enough to take photos of normal deep sky objects .
but if you wanna use CCD your bugget is not enough (B/W)
if color CCD is not so good narrow band
but anyway it is very funny to take DSO photo with CCD I support you

That's my estimation for installing my equipment in future .
Meade LXD75( motorized mount 6000HKD ) + a telescope(5000HKD) +CCD ( around 7000 HKD ) to take Missier & NGC ordinary objects .
Since I had the very useful software( MAXIM DL) for astro-photography ( which originally need 4000HKD to buy it) , but I can cracked it now after did a hard effort . And I had spent nearly 3 months to study this sophistical software for imaging . Plus the IRIS software , these two software can help me a lot in reducing my equipment total charges indeed to take the same quality of imaging .
