2015/05/17：夜探Milroy Observatory

在鄧Sir的帶領下，這一個月又再往澳洲Coonabarabran攝星，17/5去了Milroy Observatory（http://www.milroyobservatory.com.au/）用其40寸反射鏡觀星及攝星。

Did you try visual observing with this telescope with an eyepiece ? I think the view through it must be gorgeous.

Did you try visual observing with this telescope with an eyepiece ? I think the view through it must be gorgeous.

Yes, we did some visual with a 100 degree Televue Ethos. The view was indeed spectacular.

We observed the Jewel box, and indeed saw at least one star with a pale green colour.
We observed the central part of omega, and stars appeared to be all resolved (compare with a 20-inch dobs on site which cannot do so). We also observed the bursting Eta Carinae (the supernova).

At the end of the session, we also observed Saturn through some thin clouds.

The experience is highly recommended and worth every dollar.

It is AU$30 per person for a guided two-hour tour. (expecting up to 15 people but that night there was only Eddy and me)

Or you can hire the observatory (including other equipment: a 20 inch dobs, two to three 16 inch dobs, piggy back 8 inch and 6 inch astrographs etc) for AU$2000 a night.
