This is to ensure that the polar scole is in alignment with the RA axis of the mount. The RA axis is rotated and the centre (i.e. the cross hair) of the polar scope remains on the same spot.

At my location, the GEM has to be set very low in height to point to a distant target, and no matter I stand or sit down, it really hurts my back and neck to peer into the scope for a extended duration.

It is lucky that the polar scope of this mount is well aligned, but I have another mount at my storage which I haven't check (it has been moved back from Yinna Hill, to Water Mouth, then to Shatin, then to my home, so might be misaligned)

If in case it is misaligned by a huge margin, I can save my neck and back then when I have to re-adjust it.

One cannot post it here by using an eye.

A bit more serious, my speculation is that the angle of the crain (tilting at a high angle) make it difficult to use the eye (one may need to lay on the floor to do that).

個天稱離開遠，所以角度低，其它地標唔介夠佢清。個GEM唔可以太低，但係高度我冇張凳啱，企嘅話要彎腰，我最近腰痛，搞嗰Vixen刻度盤偏差嗰晚之後條腰都怨晒啦。

我另外嗰隻又係2手嘅EQ6 Pro，佢經過千山萬水，扽咗唔知幾多嘢

仲有，我想俾LT睇下，我個 mount 嘅極軸鏡嘅光軸係唔係正。用片可以清楚啲。
